Las Vegas Single-Family Detached HomesSingle-family homes come in a variety of sizes and styles. The first decision a prospective home buyer must consider is whether to choose a one-story or two-story home. All else being equal, the single story version of a 2,000 square foot home will have a larger footprint than the two-story version. Given the cost of land in Las Vegas, this generally means a larger building lot and subsequently a higher list price. A second consideration is the number of bedrooms. These days, many folks have a home office occupying a bedroom, and since you will be living in the entertainment capital of the world, you will probably have more visiting guests than usual. If you choose a two-story home do you require a bedroom on the main floor (maybe an office)? Perhaps a masterbedroom on the main floor and the children's bedrooms upstairs would work best. Another option is two master bedrooms. When entering many Las Vegas homes you are stepping into a combination living room/dining room. The family room is located beyond that at the rear of the house. In today's more casual lifestyle, people often choose a great-room option, forgoing the formal living room in favor of a larger open area. You will notice in this floorplan that the entrance leads to the formal living room / dining room combination. If you select the bedroom 4 option, that room will contain closet space. Likewise with the optional office room. A bedroom, by definition, must contain a closet and a window. Most builders offer optional fireplaces. In the illustration fireplaces can be in the master bedroom and the family room. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . Here is a traditional 2-story home with a fourth bedroom downstairs. . . . . .
